The Guidance and Training Center for the Child and Family was awarded the “Hans-Jürgen-Wischnewski-Award” by The association of the partnership between Cologne and Bethlehem.
Mr. Hans Jürgen Wischnewski, former minister of state and honorary citizen of Bethlehem, was the first Chairman of The Association of the Partnership between Cologne and Bethlehem, and his successor, the former mayor and honorary citizen of Cologne and Bethlehem Dr. Norbert Burger, launched in 1996 the town twinning of Cologne and Bethlehem.
The Hans-Jürgen-Wischnewski-Award is given every two years for people and organizations who campaign for the people living in Bethlehem.
The Award was presented to the GTC at Bethlehem Municipality on Tuesday the 22nd of October in the presence of Rev. Manfred Cock Chairman of the The Association of the Partnership between Cologne and Bethlehem, Ms. Vera Baboun, President of the GTC and Mayor of Bethlehem, a delegation from the city of Cologne in addition to the GTC team and member of orgnizations and associations working in the Bethlehem area.
