Guidance and Training Center for the Child and Family
The Guidance and Training Center Society for the Child and Family was established in Bethlehem in January 1994. The Guidance and Training Center Society for the Child and Family has been registered and licensed by the Palestinian Ministry of Interior as a non-profit organization since 1997.
The Guidance and Training Center Society for the Child and Family is characterized by its comprehensive vision for the various needs of children and families, providing preventive and therapeutic services, and developing the knowledge, skills, and expertise of workers in this field through lectures and training programs. Additionally, the Guidance and Training Center Society for the Child and Family conducts research and advocacy to create community and family awareness in mental health, ensuring the quality of life for individuals. Consequently, projects and training programs are developed based on the needs of the Palestinian community, in cooperation and partnership with Ministries such as the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health, NGO’s and CBOs concerned with mental health.
The Guidance and Training Center Society for the Child and Family is also distinguished by its multidisciplinary team, which includes a psychiatrist, psychologists, social workers, special education specialists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists.

- Enhancing individual and community awareness about mental health relates issues to achieving a healthy society at all levels.
- Providing preventive and therapeutic mental health services to children and families and the local community.
- Developing the skills of mental health professionals in Palestine through lectures, training, and research.
- Researching to study the needs of the Palestinian community, and the needs of children and families in particular, from developmental, psychological, and educational perspectives with the aim of developing treatment and diagnostic methods.
- Networking with various community levels such as the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health, CBO’s and NGO’s concerned with mental health issues in order to collaborate in developing mental health and education.
