On Thursday, March 6, 2025, a delegation from the Guidance and Training Center for the Child and Family- Bethlehem visited Franciscan Boys Home in Bethlehem as part of the Kindermissionswerk project activities supporting alternative care institutions, in coordination with the Ministry of Social Development. The visit aimed to enhance the quality of services provided in care institutions. The delegation met with Father Sandro (Administrator) and Mr. Albert Hani (Social Worker). During the meeting, they discussed ways to strengthen partnerships between institutions and the development of a new assessment tool to be implemented in alternative care homes for children aged 5 to 18. This tool is designed to evaluate children’s psychological, social, developmental, and academic well-being, helping to better understand their needs and provide necessary support to improve the quality of alternative care, in collaboration with relevant institutions. This visit marks the first step in a series of meetings aimed at improving services and fostering cooperation among key stakeholders to unify efforts, ensure service sustainability, and create a positive impact on children’s lives.
