As part of ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of alternative care for children, a delegation from the Guidance and Training Center Society for the Child and Family- Bethlehem visited the Holy Family Children’s Home (Crèche) on Thursday, March 6, 2025. This visit was conducted as part of the Kindermissionswerk project and in coordination with the Ministry of Social Development. The visit aimed to assess the services provided at the children’s home and explore ways to further develop them, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for children aged 5 to 18 years. The delegation met with Sister Denez Abu Haidar and Mr. Iskandar Andoni, a social worker, to discuss collaborative mechanisms and exchange experiences among institutions working in the field of alternative care. Additionally, the discussion included the potential development of a comprehensive assessment tool designed to evaluate the psychological, social, developmental, and academic aspects of children. This tool would enhance caregivers’ ability to respond effectively to children’s needs.
This visit is part of a series of meetings aimed at strengthening collaboration among relevant institutions and ensuring the sustainability of services provided to children in alternative care settings. The shared vision is to create a more supportive and empowering environment for children, positively impacting their growth and development.
