The Guidance and Training Center Society for the Child and Family (GTC) was founded in the city of Bethlehem in 1994 as a non-for-profit Society, registered and licensed by the Palestinian Ministry of Health and the Palestinian Ministry of Interior in the field of public and applied Mental Health, development services, education, research and training programs in the Palestinian Society.
The GTC provides preventive and therapeutic services in the area of mental health, especially for the child and family, and generally for the local community, and enhances the development of knowledge, skills, and experiences of workers in the field of mental health, and conduct research and advocacy to meet the needs of the target groups.
The GTC is looking to recruit trainees on an internship contract, from October 2024 until June 2025, for 15 hours a week at the GTC office in Bethlehem.
The Internship Program offers:

Theoretical training on up-to-date theories in clinical and educational psychology.

Training on interventions; individual and group psychotherapy.

Intensive supervision throughout the year by clinical and educational psychologists.
The Internship Program aims at:

Providing the trainee with values and professional ethics.

Improving the trainee`s theoretical background and experience.

Providing the trainee with professional and practical experiences.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for an internship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Have earned a Bachelor’s degree or earned/enrolled in a Master’s program in Psychology or Social work.

Commitment and flexibility in time and tasks.

A good command of English is an added value

Additional consideration will be given to any past professional experience in the field
A monthly pocket money will be offered to trainees.
The internship program is built through a collaboration between professionals from the Guidance and Training Center, NHS-Scotland, and the University of Glasgow-Scotland.
