As part of the Guidance and Training Center for The Child and Family- Bethlehem (GTC) commitment to strengthen institutional partnerships and enhance child support mechanisms, a delegation from the center visited SOS Children’s Villages on Thursday, March 13, 2025. The delegation consisted of Dr. Razan Qara’an – Psychologist, Ms. Dalia Nassar – Social Worker, Ms. Rania Zahda – Social Worker, and Ms. Hazar Al-Shami – Occupational Therapist. Upon their arrival, they were welcomed by the representatives of SOS Children’s Villages, including Ms. Jennifer Mukarker- Social Worker, Mr. Shadi Abdel Rahman- Social Worker; and Mr. Abdullah Al-Qamhawi- Alternative Care Coordinator. The purpose of the visit was to explore ways to improve the services provided to children and strengthen collaboration in the fields of psychological, social, and educational care. Discussions focused on enhancing the capabilities of caregivers through the development of specialized training programs, ensuring more effective psychological and social support for children. Furthermore, the delegation exchanged views on designing a comprehensive assessment tool aimed at measuring the psychological, social, and educational needs of the children. This tool would contribute to the accurate and sustainable delivery of interventions that meet their needs effectively, ensuring the provision of integrated care.
This visit represents a crucial step towards unifying efforts among institutions dedicated to child care, through the adoption of modern service delivery methodologies, and reinforcing scientific assessment and effective intervention. This collaboration highlights the importance of developing more comprehensive and sustainable care systems, creating a safe and supportive environment for children, and ensuring better opportunities for their psychological and social growth.
